Kastling
Refund Policy
Effective date: January 6, 2026 Last updated: January 6, 2026
1. Overview
This Refund Policy covers Kastling's sprint-based, fixed-price professional service engagements.
A separate Refund Policy applies to purchases of each Kastling in-house app (Verdikt, Capsule, Lanes, Triage), published on each App's own product website and controlled by the merchant of record for that App.
If you are unsure which applies to your purchase, contact hello@kastling.co.
2. Kastling's quality commitment
Every Kastling engagement begins with a written sprint proposal that defines the scope, deliverables, timeline, and fixed price. Work does not begin until both parties agree on what "done" looks like. This is the foundation of Kastling's quality commitment.
Kastling stands behind the first deliverable on every Sprint. If we miss the mark, you do not pay for the miss.
3. Risk reversal guarantee
If the first Deliverable produced in a Sprint materially fails to meet the scope agreed in the written sprint proposal, you are entitled to one of the following remedies at your election:
(a) Full refund. A full refund of the Sprint fee you paid, returned via the original payment method within ten (10) business days of Kastling's confirmation of your claim.
(b) Sprint credit. A credit equal to the full Sprint fee applied to a follow-on Sprint, at no additional cost to you. The credit does not expire.
You have fourteen (14) calendar days from delivery of the first Deliverable to invoke this guarantee.
4. How to claim a refund
To invoke the guarantee, email hello@kastling.co with:
- Subject line: Sprint Refund Request
- Your sprint proposal reference or the email address used at engagement
- A clear, specific description of how the Deliverable fails to meet the agreed scope
Kastling will acknowledge your request within one (1) business day and respond with a decision within three (3) business days. If your claim is valid, the refund or credit is issued promptly.
5. Conditions and exclusions
The risk reversal guarantee applies to the first Deliverable only and does not apply in the following circumstances:
(a) Scope changes. The Client materially changed the brief, scope, or direction after Sprint work began.
(b) Incomplete brief. The project brief submitted by the Client was materially incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading in a way that affected the outcome.
(c) Client-caused delay. The failure results from the Client's own delay, non-response, or non-cooperation during the Sprint (for example, failure to provide required materials, feedback, or approvals on time).
(d) Stylistic preference. The Client is dissatisfied with a creative or stylistic choice that falls outside the agreed scope definition. Subjective preference is not a scope failure.
(e) Subsequent deliverables. The guarantee applies to the first Deliverable only. Deliverables produced after the first deliverable within the same Sprint, approved revisions, and change order work are not covered.
6. Custom-tier engagements
For Custom-tier engagements, refund terms are specified in the written engagement proposal. Where a Custom engagement includes a defined first-milestone deliverable, the risk reversal guarantee in Section 3 applies to that milestone on the terms stated above.
7. Partial sprints and abandoned engagements
Where a Sprint is abandoned or terminated by the Client before completion without a valid scope failure claim:
- Fees for work completed to the point of abandonment are non-refundable.
- Kastling retains any Deliverables produced and does not transfer intellectual property rights for incomplete or unpaid work.
Where Kastling is unable to complete a Sprint for reasons within Kastling's control and not caused by the Client, Kastling will refund fees proportionate to the uncompleted work.
